About this video
Most people don't know this, but BoomCloud started because Jordon got tired of watching good dentists get crushed by PPOs.
Before BoomCloud, Jordon was helping manage his family's dental laboratory.
And every week the phone would ring.
Dentists would call asking for discounts.
Not because they wanted discounts.
Because insurance reimbursements were so low they were struggling to make the numbers work.
The lab wanted to help.
The dentists needed help.
But eventually everyone was losing.
The more PPO pressure increased, the harder practices had to work just to maintain profitability.
Jordon kept seeing the same pattern.
Great dentists.

join our membership program. And I was really, really I was really intrigued by it because well, one, I read the book about uh automatic customers and recurring revenue. I'm like, this is fascinating. So, I go to the office manager and I'm like, "Hey, what is this?" And she's like, "Oh, this is this is a this is a program that we just launched." This is maybe back in 2010 or 11. "We just launched it because we're so sick and tired of our of of insurance companies and
we know there's a lot of patients that don't have insurance. So, we created this program to help our patients, but also to reduce reliance on PPOs and we have thousands of patients on the program now generating thousand thousands of dollars a month in predictable revenue." I'm like, "Wow, this is fascinating." So, I I I, you know, scheduled the appointment, met with the doctor and he's like, "Jordan, we're we're cutting out all of insurance because of low reimbursements, uh adjustments, all the all the BS that they
they they put us through and we're launching this membership program because we get predictable recurring revenue and then we're cutting we're slashing PPO contracts as we grow this this patient membership program, right?" And I'm like, "Doctor, like, how are you guys managing this?" And he brought me to their back office and it had like, you know, six cubicles. He's like, "All these people are are managing every membership program in every one of our offices and they're calling patients and renewing and doing all this stuff." I'm
like, "Holy smokes. That's cool, but also really inefficient." And that led me to uh you know, build a whole entire system that helps practices uh create and grow and and be able to reduce dependence on PPOs. And that that's what led me to what I do today, right? But it also led me to learn that insurance companies attack you, right? They hurt your cash flow, they hurt your profit margins, they really hurt your patient experience, right? All the it almost feels like you're the the insurance
company's support team, right? Managing all the complaints and the issues with the insurance comp- insurance company, right? It's a really, really annoying, especially if you're in the front office dealing with that, right? Um so, insurance really is not a good business model. They're not a good partner. We all know this. That's why we're on this call today.
