Built for in-house plans, run the way you set them up.

BoomCloud is software for running practice-owned membership plans — your structure, your fees, your agreement wording, applied consistently to every member. Legal questions about your plan belong with your attorney; here is what the software itself does.

A membership plan is not insurance

As general background: an in-house membership plan is usually described as a direct agreement between a practice and its patients — patients prepay for defined services and discounts from that practice rather than buying coverage against risk. Whether your specific plan is structured that way is a question for your attorney, not for us.

Rules vary by state — that's your attorney's call

Some states regulate discount plan organizations, and some have their own disclosure or registration requirements. BoomCloud is software: we do not review state law, give legal opinions, or certify your plan. Build the structure your counsel signs off on, and the software will run it exactly that way.

Your data is protected

Member and payment data on BoomCloud is encrypted in transit and at rest. Card payments run through PCI-DSS compliant processors — card numbers never touch BoomCloud servers. Access is role-based, so front-desk staff see what they need and nothing more.

Clear terms your patients sign

Every plan can carry a plain-language membership agreement covering what's included, what's discounted, how renewal and cancellation work, and refund terms. You supply the wording; the software attaches it to every enrollment and keeps the signed record.

What the software does for you

01

Plan structures you configure

Set your own services, fees, discount percentages, billing frequency and disclosure text. The software applies your configuration to every member who joins — no one-off exceptions creeping in at the front desk.

02

Editable agreement templates

Start from a plain-language membership agreement template and edit it to match the wording your attorney approves. Every member enrolls against the version in effect at the time they sign.

03

Automated renewals and notices

Renewal reminders, cancellation handling and receipts run automatically, so plan administration is consistent for every member instead of depending on who is at the desk that day.

04

A complete audit trail

Every member, payment, agreement version and plan change is logged with a timestamp. If a question ever comes up — from a member, a board, or your attorney — the record is already there to hand over.

Common compliance questions

Is an in-house dental membership plan legal in my state?
Practices in all 50 states run in-house membership plans, but requirements vary by state and by how a plan is structured, priced and marketed. BoomCloud is software and does not provide legal advice or review state law — ask your own attorney whether your intended plan structure is permitted where you practice, then build that structure in BoomCloud.
What is a DMPO and do I need to be one?
A Discount Medical Plan Organization is a regulated entity in some states that sells access to networks of discounted providers. That is a different model from a single practice offering its own plan to its own patients, and some membership platforms operate under DMPO licenses because of how their business is built. Whether any registration applies to you depends on your state and your structure — that determination belongs with your attorney, not with us.
How does BoomCloud handle HIPAA?
BoomCloud stores member contact, plan and billing data — not clinical records. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is role-based, and payment card data is handled by PCI-DSS compliant processors rather than BoomCloud servers. Where your use involves protected health information, a Business Associate Agreement is available.
What disclosures does my membership plan need?
That depends on your state and your plan, and your attorney should tell you. What BoomCloud gives you is the place to put them: editable agreement templates and disclosure fields covering what is included, the discount structure, billing frequency, renewal and cancellation terms, and refund policy — shown to every patient before they enroll.
Does BoomCloud provide legal or compliance services?
No. BoomCloud is software for building and running practice-owned membership plans. We do not give legal advice, review state regulations, or certify that a plan is compliant. Work with your own attorney on structure and disclosures, and use BoomCloud to run the plan they approve.
BoomCloud™ is a software company, not a law firm. This page is general information, not legal advice, and nothing here is a determination about your plan. Membership plan rules vary by state and by structure — confirm yours with your own attorney.
